How to play Brick Breaker

Brick Breaker gives you a focused activity to play in your browser. Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Single 45-brick layout, three balls.

Try a deliberate move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Take a moment to understand the current position.

Step by step

  1. Start the ball.
  2. Move the paddle to intercept it.
  3. Paddle contact changes the outgoing angle.
  4. Restart a remaining ball after a loss.

Controls

Pointer, arrow keys or held Left/Right. Start / pause and New round are available. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An edge hit sends the ball at a different angle. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

Track its landing point, not only its current x-coordinate. Compare the situation with the worked example. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
