How to play Dominoes

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Dominoes. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Step by step

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

Controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

A useful example

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Compare the situation with the worked example. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
