How to play Arrow Sudoku

Bring your attention to one round of Arrow Sudoku. Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Use the example below to understand a decision. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Use the control method described here for this activity. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

A circle 7 may have an arrow containing 3 and 4 when the normal Sudoku rules also allow it. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
