How to play Pyramid Solitaire

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Pyramid Solitaire. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Use the example below to understand a decision. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Look at what changes after your first action.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Review a difficult moment

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

A useful example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result.
